Kite Festivals

Kite Festivals are enjoyed by millions of people every year all around the world. We even have a few of our own right here in Canada. What an incredible experience hanging out with all types of people, young and old, sharing a common passion. We may not be able to speak the same language at times but when it comes to kites and kite flying there are no barriers.

Check out the American Kitefliers Association for the latest updates of festivals around the world.

WOW another fantastic music / kite festival in Swift Current. There was threat of rain but we manage to get through the weekend fairly dry. Lots of large beautiful kites supplied by many of the kite club members from around Canada and the USA. Candy drops and Parabears on the go as well. The kids and parents once again in high spirits enjoying the many activities that happen at this event.

Comments:

Saturday was great, nice and sunny but the winds where lite. We did have a bunch of friends and families showed up to fly and support each other. We all flew and visit and chased one another around in the sky when we could. Sunday was better for wind. Got a bunch of KAP pictures of the Old Man Reservoir and area. Looks like this event has run its course. We will miss the comradery that's been here for the past 20 years.

Comments:

We had a super day. Manage to get lots of large kites up in the air and got quite a few comments from people on the other side of Edmonton who saw the Big kites way up high above the horizon. They even manage to lure some folks to come over and participate at this event. With the help from some friends from the community we manage to having many candy drops. The kids pockets were bulging with candy, what a funny sight. There were free hotdogs pop and chips for the families and Hay rides available as well. We had kite making on side and got quite a few sled kites in the air. Way too go you guys. Great event!
